Summer party

Today I got myself into the summer party flow making some cute matching
windmills to pop into lemonade, cupcakes, sweetie jars and a little table seating card.

I used the gorgeous

from Tutti Designs

I used one sheet of 6 x 6 inch double sided paper and cut
the square sizes you can see in photo.

I folded the paper from point to point, as shown, and burnished the folds.

I then cut up each fold just about a centimeter short of the centre point.

I added some tape runner and proceeded to bring one point of each cut up to centre.
They are held together with a silver square brad which attached them to the straws.
The little table seating card is 2" x 2.5", folded in half.
Stamp your sentiment and secure the smallest windmill to the side using the brad.

Easy and quick and you know your squares will be perfect using these great dies.

For my project I have used

As I got carried away making these I decided to do a card for the birthday girl too.

I'm in the MOOD

Our challenge is up and running over at
and this month we have a mood board for you

I chose the colours and made a sentiment card.

I simply used lots of left over card, cut in strips with my fancy edge cutter
(looks like it needs sharpened though)
Placed them all slightly glued on top of each other and repeated the pattern.
I then cut some spots in white using my Bottles and Bubbles Framelits
and cut the word CELEBRATE using Celebrate You Framelits in white card.
I stamped the words IN STYLE using part of a stamp from Truly Tailored stamp set

I hope you get time to enter this month!
You can find the challenge

We had such a terrible day, weather wise, yesterday. Strong winds and loads of rain.
The poor leaves that have just appeared are now on the ground!!
Hoping for sunshine today!
We are having a day out, not sure where, but we have both worked so hard
about the house this week I think we deserve it.
Enjoy your day and thanks for dropping by.

Close to nature

Our May challenge is now up and running over at Stamping Sensations and it's all about

 ********Close to Nature********

So many options here, flowers, trees, wild animals and insects, in fact anything associated with the wonders of Nature and the great outdoors which surround us every day.

We are sponsored by
We are thrilled to introduce a new sponsor this month Chocolate Baroque, their wonderful rage of stamps really compliment this months theme so do pop over to their web site and take a look and also watch out for them on Hochanda TV.

Just remember STAMPING must be them main feature of your project!!

For my project I went made an eclipse card using the lovely stamps from Donna Ratcliff. I made the background using spectrum noir watercolours and sparkle pens.
The stamps sets are called Magic Garden, Toadstool Home and Fairy Door.
I cut the wording using my Stampin' Up Letter framelits and cut them about 5 times more in black to add lots of layers behind the letters. This is an 8 x 8'' card.

I look forward to seeing all your CLOSE TO NATURE projects this month.

The sun is shining on and off here today but at least the air
has finally warmed up. So I'm off for a quick clean up
then hope to spend some time in the garden.
Enjoy your day and hopefully you will get to join our challenge this month!!
So stamp, stamp, stamp!!

Confirmation frames

Today I decided to make some frames for a card using

It's always nice to get more uses out of our dies.

I started with the large to create the square, then cut with the next die to create a frame.
I did this a few times.

I then cut one of the large frames into 4 pieces

and used them to create the illusion of a larger frame,
simply glue in place to cover the cuts.

I glued these to my card base

then continued to layer more frames and one centre piece
using dimensionals. The centre will hold my photo.

To create a frame for my wording I used one of the left over squares
and placed the die as above to get a bottom line of crosses.
I used top and bottom of this square to get two frames.

I added some little punched crosses, pearls and wording.
Sorry to block the centre but I don't like sharing kids photos online.

For my card I used

Papers are from Stampin' Up! Bundle of Love
Gold Mirri Card
Small cross punch
Blue pearls

Confirmation card

Today I am sharing a Confirmation card using this beautiful die

I cut the die out twice, once in white and once in pink
and cut away the crosses from the pink die cut and adhered them on top of the white ones.

Next I added glue on back of white die cut and placed it onto vellum,
which I then trimed away.

I wanted to add some yellow behind the vellum so repeated the glue on back
and trimmed away the yellow access.

This I then popped with 3 dimensional foam ready to be added to my base card.

I used pink card layered up with two different embossed white cards
and added some matching pink ribbon to cover join.

Next I decorated the Holy Cross die with pearls and ribbon
and stuck to centre of card. I punched some tiny doves for the corners.
I will add congratulations and recipients name when I know who it is for.

I will personalise it when I know who it's for.

For my project today I used

Embossed white card, embossed striped card
Vellum, yellow card, pink card
Pearls, ribbon, bow
dove punch
